Acting
©Felix Broede To me the acting process holds great opportunities to learn about creative (life-) processes. It offers tools anyone can use to explore their individual creative potential. Also, it may provide access to a form of respect and understanding concerning different ways of human experience and behaviour. What i find problematic about the artform, though, is that drama is based on a worldview which is defined through oppositions and conflicts. (And that it propagates it.) – And which places the human being and his experience in the center of all events. Drama establishes a way to look at the world and underlines a way of emotional perception which is working against a development that would be necessary to enable people to live and act in a responsible and sustainable way. (concerning this you may also read what i wrote under 'artwork/drawing' ) The human being is participating in life on earth. and life on earth takes place following certain principles. One principle underlying nature and the universe is the principle of polarities. nothing is being approved or abnegated in nature, but the principle of polarities describes a dynamic balance, a steady flow between different aspects of one and the same system. That means: The dramatic experience of life and the world is a projection of man. Underlying it is a psychological process. (find more info under resources/texts & excerpts/human defense mechanisms ) On the path towards a more wholistic, integrated view of the world a psychological development takes place, through which we may realize that drama is not an integral part of life, but a way of human experience, based on a certain stage of development/evolution of the consciousness. |
